Prince Khalid Al Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Region opened last night Arab Direct Mail and Marketing Forum-2009 at Jeddah Hilton. Dr. Mohammed Salih Benten, President of the Saudi Post said that the development of direct mail marketing industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would lead to international access of world companies in this industry which is estimated at about $4 billion annually in relation to the profits reaped by these companies in the Kingdom which in turn benefits the local GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and provides career opportunities and raise the level of services provided to citizens. On his part, Eng. Mohamed Jamil Bin Ahmed Mulla, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Post, explained that this forum is to establish a new industry which is considered as new developmental tools in the global economy and investment incentives to show its positive effects on the domestic market in addition to quantity and quality. He pointed out that the world markets today depends largely on classified information based on the needs of the individual and the family and the components of societies, and it harness the technology in accordance with a scientific and systematic method to develop a map of each community in accordance with the interests and demands of different groups and then market products and offer services according to these concerns and desires, cutting short a lot of time, effort and cost.
