Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Humayen, the Head of the General Presidency for the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (CPVPV), has highlighted the significance of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz international prize for the Prophet's Sunnah (teachings) and contemporary Islamic studies, and said it provides a clear evidence for the great attention given by Prince Naif to the Sunnah. He noted that the vicious campaigns launched against Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him), make it necessary to conduct researches on the Sunnah and to shed light on his biography. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he said the prize aims at following up the footsteps of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), so as to preserve the Islamic identity which is based on moderation. Despite the short span of time, the prize has earned a good reputation, he said, praising the support extended to the prize by the state.
