Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, expressed great pride in the confidence given to him by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz hoping to meet the king's good opinion and fulfill his duty toward his religion and homeland in a way that satisfies God first and then the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the people of the homeland. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency and Saudi Television on the occasion of the issuance of the royal order appointing him as Second Deputy Premier, he said, "I thank many. After my thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and for the congratulations from the crown prince on the confidence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, I thank Prince Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Prince Badr bin Abdulaziz, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, all my brothers and many family members." Prince Naif also thanked the Grand Mufti of the kingdom saying that he met with the Mufti today and listened to his praying for success to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Prince Naif prayed that God help him to meet the king's good opinion. Prince Naif said, "I also met a number of the family members, officials and citizens. I thank them all and pray to God to meet the king's good opinion in serving our religion and dear homeland." Prince Naif stressed the great importance of the king confidence in him and thanked all for the congratulations.
