Turkey's military says its warplanes have struck Kurdish rebel targets inside northern Iraq, AP reported. Military spokesman Brig. Gen. Metin Gurak says Air Force jets bombed targets in the Zap region along the Turkish-Iraqi border on Thursday. Gurak made the announcement during a weekly news conference on Friday. It is the latest of a series of Turkish strikes against rebel hideouts in northern Iraq. The guerrillas have staged hit-and-run attacks on Turkish targets from there for decades.
