Assad of Syria and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait held a summit meeting in Riyadh. The summit comes as a result of a collective will of the leaders of the four countries to purify the Arab climate and achieve reconciliation in completion of a call launched at Kuwait Summit held on 20 January 2009 by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz aiming at ignoring the past and overcoming the Arab differences for the sake of the Arab Ummah (Nation)'s interests. The leaders believe that today's Riyadh meeting represents the start of a new phase of inter-Arab relations in which the four countries are seeking to serve the Arab issues through cooperating with each other and hard and continuing work for the good of the Arab countries as well as reaching a unified Arab approach for Arab policies in confrontation of key issues facing the Arab Ummah, particularly the Palestinian issue.
