The activities of the "21st Conference of Supreme Islamic Affairs Council" started here today with the participation of Ministers, scholars and intellectuals from more than 80 countries as well as the representatives of the Islamic, Arab and international organizations and the Vatican. Sheikh Salih bin Abdulaziz Al Alsheikh, the Minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance, is leading the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the conference. On behalf of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the conference was inaugurated by Egyptian Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif. The participants of the four-day conference will review six main topics including means for the renewal of the Islamic jurisprudence as well as issues pertaining to the Islamic rhetoric and philosophy.
