Minister of Islamic affairs, endowments, call and guidance Sheikh Salih al Alsheikh arrived here on Wednesday evening on a visit to Egypt. He will lead the Saudi delegation to the 21st conference of the supreme Islamic affairs council, due to be inaugurated here today under the patronage of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. He was welcomed at Cairo international airport by Egyptian minister of endowments Dr Hamad Zakzouk and a number of officials. The participants of the four-day conference will review a number of Islamic topics and means for the renewal of the Islamic jurisprudence as well as issues pertaining to the Islamic rhetoric and philosophy. On the fringes of the conference a forum will be organized with the participation of more than 20 Islamic scholars and thinkers as well as thinkers from Europe and America. The forum will be concerned with the Palestinian problem, means for confronting extremism and other related issues. Ministers, scholars and intellectuals from more than 80 countries as wells the representatives of the Islamic, Arab and international organizations and the Vatican will participate in the conference.
