French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner left Sana'a on Saturday after a short visit to Yemen, during which he met with Yemen's President Ali Abdullah Saleh and a number of officials. Upon his departure, Kouchner told SABA news agency that France supports Yemen's stance relating to the necessity of the unity of the Palestinians, call for a ceasefire in Gaza and works for the sake of establishing an independent and Free Palestinian free state. "During a conference on rebuilding Gaza in Cairo, scheduled to take place on March 2, we hope to renew the call for ceasefire and we will work to achieve success for the unity of the two Palestinian factions. The French people are willing just like Yemenis and intend to establish an independent and a free Palestinian state," Kouchner said.
