Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh received a telephone call from President of Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas in which Abbas acquainted President Saleh with the latest developments on the Palestinian arena, SABA reported. President Saleh and President Abbas also discussed the outcomes of the 20th Arab summit, which was held in the Syrian capital Damascus, particularly regarding the Palestinian issue. The discussion also dealt with efforts exerted by Yemen to bring together Palestinian national factions, achieve reconciliation between Fateh and Hamas movements and boost Palestinian unity in the light of the Yemeni initiative and Sana'a declaration which was signed by the two movements in Sana'a. President Abbas expressed his and Palestinian people appreciation for Yemen's stands supporting the Palestinian national unity. For his part, President Saleh reconfirmed Yemen's stands supporting the Palestinian people to restore their legislative rights and establish the Palestinian independent state.
