The leader of the Alliance for Re-liberation of Somalia [ARS], Sheikh Sharif Ahmad hailed the role being played by Yemen for realizing Somali reconciliation and backing security and stability in the war-torn country, according to Saba. Upon his departure Sana'a, Sheikh Sharif said to Saba that Yemen has vital roles regarding to the Somali reconciliation, "the Yemeni role is always effective toward Somali issues". Sharif said that a meeting would be held by the end of May among the Somali factions, expecting a Somali-Somali dialogue may create a positive impact to find security, stability and peace in Somalia and to establish a national government. He pointed that he had briefed President Ali Abdullah Saleh over the latest developments in Somalia in the light of the ongoing dialogue among various factions of Somalia for the sake of achieving national reconciliation.
