Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, the President of AGFUND, has expressed satisfaction over the success attained by AGFUND'S initiative pertaining to establishment of banks for the poor people in the Arab countries. After reading a report on the performance of the national bank for financing small projects in Jordan, which is considered the first bank for the poor people in the Arab world, Prince Talal said the project of the banks of the poor people has proved to be useful and it is important from the social and economic dimensions. It is worth mentioning that the bank of financing small projects in Jordan was established in partnership between AGFUND and Professor Mohammed Yunis, the founder of Grameen Bank, in cooperation with partners from the Jordanian private sector and the Jordanian government.
