Presided over by its chairman Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council held here today its 74th ordinary session. The session was also attended by Turkish President Abdullah Gul where a speech was given by him. At the outset of the session, the Council, among other issues, continued discussions of the request to reconsider the requirement in Article (2/ paragraph 3) of the system of private health institutions so that it would be: (A Saudi doctor must be appointed by the owner of the medical center and given a full time job as a supervisor - if he (the owner) or other partners not Saudi doctors. If this can not be met, an exemption can be made as determined by the Regulations List). In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Secretary General of Shoura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ghamdi said that the council discussed the report by the Committee for Management, Human Resources and Petitions concerning the two annual reports of the General Organization for Social Insurance for the fiscal years 1426/1427H. and 1427/1428H. The Council will hold further discussions of the reports in its next session.
