Floods triggered by incessant downpours over the past few days have forced hundreds of people to flee to safer areas in Cilacap District, ANTARA reported. The floodwaters reaching a height of up to one meter have hit the district's Majenang, Cimanggu and Wanareja sub districts. Some 800 people, residents of three villages in Majenang sub districts, were evacuated to higher ground, including a sports stadium, Majenang sub district chief Heru Susedyono said here on Monday. The local authorities have distributed relief aid consisting of among other things food and medicines to the flood victims, he said.
