Hadidi highlighted the existing strong relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan and said the leaderships in the two countries are keen on further cementing bilateral relations. He noted that the meetings of this session will be complementary to meetings of the 11th session, held in Amman in 2006. Al-Hadidi said the trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about sr 3703 million last October. In the same period in 2007, the trade exchange was only sr 2477 million, he noted. Al-Hadidi said that the Jordanian exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to sr 401 million, while the Jordanian imports from Saudi Arabia amounted to sr 2358 million in the same period. The Jordanian minister underlined the importance of exerting more efforts to realize more balance in the trade balance. He said the two counties have been working to merge in the international trade system. Meanwhile, the Jordanian minister underscored the importance of realizing an Arab economic bloc for confronting the challenges of globalization. Al-Hadidi urged the Saudi businessmen to intensify their investments and joint projects with their Jordanian counterparts, pointing out that the Saudi investments in Jordan have exceeded $1 billion.
