The total value of Saudi non-oil exports in October showed a 5% increase of about 9088 million riyals as compared to 8643 million riyals during October of 2007, with an overall increase of 445 million riyals. On the other hand, the overall weigh of exports witnessed a 19% decrease, showing (2708) thousand tons as compared to (3341) thousand tons in October of last year, registering a total decrease of about 633, 000 tons. According to a report by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, petrochemicals topped the Kingdom's list of exports in October. Plastic products came second followed by a number of other exports such as; fabric, clothes, electric equipment as well as transport equipment. On the imports level, Ministry of Economy and Planning reported that the total value of Saudi imports during the month of October, registered a 9% increase of about 32749 million riyals as compared to 29975 million riyals during October of 2007, with an overall increase of 2774 million riyals. The weigh of imported products showed a 28% decrease of about 3160 tons as compared to 4377 during October of last year. --More
