Minister of Transport Dr Jubara Al-Sireisiri said Tuesday the Transport Ministry was able to benefit from its allocations for the fiscal year 1428-1429 AH. He noted that 340 projects approved in the budget of 1428-1429 were settled at a total cost of SR 7.9 billion. The minister pointed out that the budget included expenditure on conducting studies on public transport inside the cities and development of the technological and administrative infrastructure. Dr al-Sireisiri said SR 7,394 million were spent on the programs and projects of the fourth chapter at the rate of 99.97 percent, and SR 658 million on the programs of maintenance and operations of the third chapter at the rate of 99.35 percent. He noted that what was spent from the surplus of the revenues of years 1424 AH, 1426AH and 1426 AH amounted to SR 2, 183 million. Dr Al-Sireisiri said the Ministry will implement the projects in line with the Royal directives.
