Officials say avalanches in Vorarlberg, Austria's westernmost province, have killed two German ski tourists, according to AP. The Austria Press Agency quotes police as saying a 22-year-old unnamed snowboarder was buried by an avalanche on a closed slope in the Bregenzerwald region. The agency says his skiing partner was party buried but managed to free himself. And the agency quotes police as saying that a 40-year-old man died Sunday in the Kleinwalsertal region after triggering an avalanche while skiing outside the prepared slopes. Officials said the avalanche warning service had classified the danger of a snow slide as high for Sunday. Dozens of avalanches hit Austria's slopes every year.
