At least one skier is dead and two persons missing Saturday after several avalanches in the Austrian alps, police and Austria media reported. According to the police, the first avalanche was caused midday in western Vorarlberg province by a skier who left secure ski runs despite considerable danger of avalanches. The unidentified man was reported to been buried underneath four metres of snow and was found dead after a half hour search by mountain rescue personnel. Two avalanches were reported later in the afternoon in the central Salzburg province's Pinzgau area with one person rescued unharmed from the snow. Two further persons however are feared still buried, the APA news agency reported.
