ON-DON, Russia, December 18, SPA -- Russian officials say two law enforcement officials died and six others were injured in a clash between militants and police in Chechnya. The Russian Interior Ministry's branch in Chechnya says in a statement that the fighting started Thursday when police tried to detain two suspected rebels in the eastern city of Argun. The statement says the suspected rebels also died, according to a report of Associated Press. Police spokesman Mark Tolchinsky says four police officers were also wounded Wednesday in the province of Dagestan east of Chechnya in landmine explosions staged by militants.
