On-Don, Russia, October 24, SPA -- Interior Ministry officials said one Russian soldier has been killed and 10 other servicemen and police officers have been wounded in attacks in Chechnya, AP reported. It said the soldier died in a landmine explosion staged by separatist rebels in the southern Chechen village of Serzhen-Yurt. It said two other soldiers were badly wounded in the explosion late Thursday. The ministry also said two separate landmine explosions in the village of Goi-Chu wounded eight police officers.
