Afghanistan and its neighbors discussed security issues and regional cooperation at an informal meeting in France Sunday, AP quoted a French Foreign Ministry official as saying. French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and his Afghan counterpart, Rangin Dadfar Spanta, attended Sunday's closed-doors meeting, held in the Paris suburb of La Celle Saint Cloud. Top European officials, including EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, were also there, the official said. Representatives of Afghanistan's neighbors _ China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan _ were also present, as was regional heavyweight India, the French official said. Following the meetings, those present were to attend a working dinner at the French Foreign Ministry, according to a ministry statement.
