Afghan Foreign Minister Dadfar Sangeen Spanta will visit Pakistan on June 23 to discuss bilateral matters, officials said. Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, during a meeting with his Afghan counterpart in Azerbaijan where he attended the OIC Foreign Ministers Conference, invited him to visit Pakistan. Spanta told Kasuri that he was looking forward to visiting Islamabad to discuss issues of vital importance of Pakistan and Afghanistan. So far, the dates of his visit were being discussed between the two sides. However, it materialised after the meeting, the first since Spanta took over his present position. Kasuri reiterated Pakistan's abiding interest in the welfare of Afghan brethren and stability in Afghanistan and expressed Pakistan's keen interest to further strengthen bilateral relations especially in economic and trade sectors.
