The Arab League Council held here today an extraordinary meeting at the level of permanent representatives under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Qattan to discuss the latest developments in Somalia at the request of the Secretary General of Arab League Amr Moussa. In a statement issued today, the Council stressed its support for the peace process and national reconciliation in Somalia through the implementation of all peace agreements signed in Djibouti under United Nations auspices with the participation of the African Union and the Arab League. It also called on all Somali factions to adopt dialogue as the only way to resolve differences and to actually commit to peace agreements signed in Djibouti as well as their implementation.
