Local authorities have evacuated some 70 people to a school building after a landslide hit the hilly village of Kombos Timur in the North Sulawesi provincial capital of Manado, ANTARA reported. "The move is aimed at preventing local people from falling victim to a further landslide because of high rainfalls in the city in the past few days," Head of the Manado Social Service J Kowaas said on Sunday. A landslide triggered by two days of rains destroyed a house in the village, he said.
