Prince Sultan bin Salman, Secretary General of the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said here today that the issue of preservation of architectural heritage is a national issue that concerns several governmental bodies and not only the Tourism and Antiquities Authority. In a press statement, he said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince are at the forefront of supporters of this issue, adding that a dividing line between development and urban development on one hand and heritage preservation on the other is no longer existing. He cited Jeddah downtown development project as an example of Saudi Arabia's development and preservation of architectural heritage.
