Dr. Osamah Tayeb, Director of King Abdulaziz University will launch on November 18, a Center of Excellence for osteoporosis researches. The Center will be the first research center in osteoporosis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the Middle East. Moreover, it is one of five new research centers approved by the Ministry of Higher Education to be set up at Saudi universities with contracts worth more than SR 150 million. KAU's Director expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Anqari for his support for the establishment of centers of excellence for researches indicating that the ministry aims at promoting and encouraging Saudi universities' interests in scientific research and development by supporting new or on going research projects in various fields and disciplines in order to highlight the strengths and areas of excellence in academic research centers. --MORE
