The U.S. dollar was higher against most
other currencies in European trading Thursday. Gold fell.
The euro traded at US$1.2847, down from US$1.2866 late
Wednesday in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_97.93 Japanese yen, down from 97.97
_1.1640 Swiss francs, up from 1.1599
_1.2592 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2521
The British pound was quoted at US$1.6252, down from
US$$1.6337.
Gold traded in London at US$726.00 per troy ounce, down
from US$744.00 late Wednesday.
