Two people were killed and two others seriously injured after a market bus hit a truck , then crashed into a roadside workshop and a truck drivers` dormitory on the northern Java coastal highway (Pantura) at Gebang Kulon village, Cirebon district, early Thursday morning, according to Antara. The fatalities were Ismail (35), the workshop`s owner, and Kirman, a Cilacap resident who happened to be sleeping in the dormitory. The seriously injured victims were Darta (55) and Kodori (50), both were drivers of the sand-loaded truck. The "Rosalia Indah" bus was heading to Jakarta on the northern Java coastal highway without passengers when suddenly its path was blocked by the truck that had just come out from the compound of a sand storehouse. The bus driver, Sutrisno, who was driving the bus at full speed panicked and hit the rear part of the truck. Sutrisno failed to stop his vehicle so that it rode on, and crashed into the roadside workshop and truck drivers` dormitory behind the workshop. The dead victims were taken to Gunung Jati Hospital, while the injured were rushed to Waled General Hospital. Cirebon Police detained Sutrisno for investigation. (*)
