A 16-year-old boy shot outside of a Toronto high school was arrested and charged as he recovered at the hospital after police determined he was injured during a botched robbery, AP quoted police as saying today. Toronto Police Constable Wendy Drummond said the boy was charged Tuesday while hospitalized with a gunshot wound in his abdomen. He was shot earlier in the day in the parking lot of Bendale Business and Technical Institute. The shooting prompted a 2 1/2 hour lockdown. According to the police report, the teen was accidentally shot as he and at least three other young men were trying to rob another teen. Drummond said the gunman has not been caught but 18-year-old Mark Deicsics was also been charged in the robbery. Deicsics was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. The shooting prompted a tense lockdown that left parents anxiously waiting for confirmation that their children were safe.
