Yemen's Speaker of Parliament Yahya al-Ra'ei met on Wednesday with the resident representative of United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Yemen, Saba reported. During the meeting, al-Ra'ei reviewed legislations development witnessed in Yemen, especially laws relating to the political and democratic methods, such as economic, social and cultural development process and future horizons. He pointed out to the current preparations in the country and political forces movement in order to practice electoral merits for the new parliamentary elections in April 2009. On her side, UNDP representative in Sana'a expressed her appreciation for continuing development of democratic process in Yemen, confirming UNDP's readiness to provide support to the upcoming parliamentary elections. On the other hand he also met with Swiss businessman Ahmed Bin Qabil and reviewed with him investment opportunities in Yemen and guarantees and facilities insured by the Yemeni laws for the investors. The Swiss businessman showed his happiness to visit Yemen and desire to invest in the banking sector, the production of electricity, and other investment fields.
