U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney will visit Georgia, Ukraine, and Azerbaijan next week to meet with the Presidents of the three countries, the White House said Monday. President George W. Bush asked Cheney to travel to the three countries “for discussions with these key partners on issues of mutual interest,” the White House said in a statement. Starting September 2, Cheney will meet with President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, and President Victor Yushchenko of Ukraine. On his return, Cheney is scheduled to stop in Italy for meetings with other leaders, including Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, and to addend an international forum in Lake Cuomo.
