Kamchatsky, August 21, SPA -- Policemen have confiscated from poachers in Kamchatka almost 3.5 tonnes of red caviar, Itar-Tass quoted the press service of the police department of the Kamchatka territory as reporting today. Two tonnes of salmon caviar was found on a truck that was stopped for checking in Yelizovo. The caviar was transported from the catch area. On the same day, policemen in Yelizovo found another batch of caviar – over 1.3 tonnes in another vehicle. The transporters failed to produce any documents for the products. The cargo has been confiscated and passed to safe storage. Probes are underway into the exposed violations.
