Russia is sending reinforcements to the peacekeeping contingent in South Ossetia, Itar-Tass quoted the Defense Ministry's press and information department as saying today. “The necessary assistance will be extended to the Russian peacekeepers, the citizens of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, and the citizens of the self-proclaimed republic,” the Defense Ministry said. “We shall not let the deaths of our fellow citizens and peacekeepers go unpunished. A reinforcement is being dispatched to the region to help he peacekeepers end the bloodshed,” the Defense Ministry added.
