Dniester Region ends freeze on talks with Moldova

The self-proclaimed Dniester Republic is ending the freeze on the settlement talks with Moldova, its leader, Igor Smirnov, said on Wednesday, according to Itar-Tass.
“At a certain point we imposed a freeze on all meetings, because the Moldovan president kept quiet about the events in South Ossetia. Now we are lifting the freeze,” Smirnov told the Russia Today television news channel.
