A Saudi Relief convoy marched today from downtown Khartoum heading for seven states in Sudan in continuation to phase I which was ordered several months ago by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide relief items for flood-hit people in some Sudanese states last year. In a statement at the delivery ceremony, Sudan's Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs Ahmed Haroon thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the Saudi continuous support for flood-stricken people in the Sudan, reassuring that the situation is getting better in all Sudan's states. For his part, Mohammed bin Abbas Al-Kilabi, Saudi ambassador to Sudan, confirmed the firmness of relations binding Saudi Arabia and Sudan and the keenness of the Kingdom upon instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to stand by the side of their Sudanese brothers. For his part, Dr. Hasabo Mohammed Abdulrahman, Commissioner General for Humanitarian Aid in Sudan, said the convoys consist of food stuffs, pesticides, ambulances, tanks, and water and electricity equipment for the states of Al-Jazeerah, Sinnar, Kasala, South Kordofan, River Nile, Red Sea, and East Equatoria. He lauded the assistance provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, disclosing that emergency hospitals will soon be dispatched to Sudan upon orders from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as part of the $20 million aid to flood-stricken people in Sudan last year.
