Nearly 70 heart surgeries, all successful, were performed by a visiting Saudi medical team from Prince Sultan Center for Heart Diseases and Surgery, at Al-Thawra hospital in Sanaa over the past five days, it was reported here today. In a statement, Dr. Huwaida bint Obeid Al-Githami, leader of the team, said the operations varied between open heart and pediatric catheter operations for those suffering from inherited defaults or chronic cases. She said some children, all in their early childhood, who have undergone cardiac operations were discharged for homes in good condition.
