The U.S. stock market looked to recover on Tuesday from loss of more than 200 points, as futures pointed to a modest rebound. Less than two hours before the start of trading, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures were 34 points higher at 11170. The S&P 500 futures picked up 2.9 to 1238, and Nasdaq 100 futures rose 4.25 to 1818. Investors awaited the latest readings on house prices and consumer confidence. Financials dragged the entire market down yesterday, as investors once again became spooked by declining earnings and massive write-downs caused by the mortgage crisis.
