Supreme Judicial Council calls for sighting Shaban Crescent

The Supreme Judicial Council, urged today all Muslims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of the month of Shaaban on the evening of Friday (29 / 7 / 1429AH) according to Um Al-Qura calendar.
In a statement issued here today, the Council 'requested those who sight the crescent to report and inform the nearest court and record their testimony in front of a judge or inform the governorate official if no judge is available in the region to facilitate reaching the nearest court."
The Council also drew attention to the Crescent sighting and expressed hope for cooperation of the righteous and pious (Muslims) to perform this Islamic ritual.
