Supreme Court urges Muslims to sight 'Shawwal' Crescent

The Supreme Court has called on all Muslims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of the Lunar Month of Shawwal on Saturday evening(Ramadan 29,1430H) according to Umm Al-Qura Calendar, corresponding to September 19, 2009.
In an announcement made today, the Supreme Court requested whoever sees the crescent of Shawwal through naked eyes or telescopes to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the authority of the region's governorate in order to facilitate reaching the nearest court.
The Supreme Court urged all Muslims to sight the Crescent for cooperation of all in righteousness and piety.
