Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the two deadly blasts in Istanbul, Turkey on Sunday (July 27, 2008) which claimed the lives of innocent citizens including children. In a press statement issued here yesterday, he condemned the attacks in strongest terms and termed it as acts of cowardice and terror perpetrated by enemies of peace, whom the international community should fight against with all its means and determination. Ihsanoglu extended his solidarity and condolences to the Government and people of Turkey, in particular to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this horrific and senseless terrorist attacks. He also extended his deepest sympathy to the injured and prayed for their early recovery.
