An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale shook Maluku Province, on Thursday at 5.31 am Western Indonesian Time (WIB), ANTARA quoted the national meteorological and geophysics office as reporting. The earthquake's epicenter was located at 2.91 degrees southern latitude and 126.21 degrees eastern longitude, around 98 km southeast of Sanana, at a depth of 37 km below sea level. Indonesia is located along the Pacific volcanic belt known as the "Ring of Fire," where earthquakes and volcanoes are common.
