An oil spot of about two kilometers long and 600 meters wide has been traced in the Amur River on territory of the Amur region, the Khabarovsk territorial department of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry told Itar-Tass on Tuesday. The ministry sent a helicopter with rescuers and floating booms to the location. Environmental experts will visit the area, as well. At worst, the spill may reach Khabarovsk on July 15-16. Experts say that the pollution will not be large and the quality of drinking water won' t deteriorate. At the same time, Khabarovsk water services have received the warning and prepared for taking water samples.
