Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives received here last night the visiting delegation of the Saudi Shoura (Consultative) Council led by Dr Bandar Al-Eiban. A number of the US congressmen participated in the meeting. Dr Al-Eiban conveyed to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, as well as Dr Salih bin Humaid, the Chairman of the Shoura Council. The Shoura Council's delegation reiterated keenness on further cementing friendly relations with the US Congress in a manner that serves mutual interest. On her part, Pelosi welcomed the delegation and highlighted the outcome of her historical visit to Saudi Arabia last year and expressed appreciation for the warm welcome extended to her in the Kingdom. She asked the delegation to convey her greetings to King Abdullah and his Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz as well as the Chairman of the Shoura Council. During the reception, the delegation exchanged views with Pelosi on a number of topics including the Arab-Israeli dispute, the situation in Iraq, as well as means of fighting terrorism, the price of petroleum and the economic situation in the Kingdom.
