Saudi Arabia to observe World Day for combating Desertification

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia along with other countries of the world, will observe tomorrow the international day for combating desertification.
The agriculture ministry said in a statement on this occasion that the Kingdom had participated with a delegation led by minister of agriculture Dr Fahd Balghunaim at the meeting of the UN's sustainable development committee in New York on May 5-16, 2008.
The meeting discussed means of fighting desertification.
The Kingdom also participated in the conference of the world leaders held in Rome on June 3-5, 2008. The meeting discussed issues pertaining to the food security and the climate change.
