A tectonic earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale shook Gorontalo Province, Sulawesi Island, on Tuesday at 3.47 am local time, ANTARA reported. The earthquake's epicenter was located at 0,12 degrees southern latitude and 123 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 101 km below sea level, around 81 km southeast of Gorontalo, according to information of the Gorontalo meteorological and geophysics office. The temblor could be felt by local residents at the second and third level of Modified Mercally Intensity (MMI).
