The Saudi Arabian General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (GCTA) won the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Ulysses special Jury prize for Scholastic program for Tourism. Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary General of GCTA, in a joint conference with Minister of Education Dr. Abdullah Al-Obaid, said that this award is granted for pioneering projects carried out by governmental tourist institutions, tourist establishments and non-profit tourist institutions of excellence in recognition of their contributions to support the organization of tourism and other related areas such as environment and society in general. "Moreover, the award is also granted for innovation and knowledge employment in tourism management."
