Greek firefighters battled to contain a forest fire just outside the capital Athens on Tuesday, reports said, according to dpa. Dozens of firefighters, assisted by four fire-fighting aircraft and ten tenders, were battling to extinguish the blaze at Glyka Nera, near Athens. Reports said no homes were under threat. Greece suffered one of the worst summers last year as hundreds of forest fires, namely in the Peloponnese and the island of Evia, broke out across the country, killing more than 70 people.
