H.E Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held talks Sunday with visiting US Secretary of Education Her Excellency Margaret Spellings, over the role of education in making progress and economic development, WAM reported. Sheikh Nahyan briefed his guest about the government strategy for education, saying that ''The UAE is attracting best educators from around the world, adopting modern curricula and introducing advanced learning technologies to groom UAE nationals in a better way so as to join local labour market and contribute to nation building. The talks were attended by H.E Dr. Hanif Hassan, Minister of Education, H.E Dr. Khalifa Bakhit Al Falasi, Minister of State and a number of top ministry officials. The US minister arrived here on Friday accompanied by a big US education delegation on the first visit to the UAE.
