The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Education Minister, Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami has affirmed that the UAE is keen to actively participate in the programs and projects of The Arab League's Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and support all its creative initiatives. Delivering the inaugural speech at the 20th General Congress of ALECSO, which opened in Tunis on Tuesday, Al Qatami also alluded to the great interest attached to the Organization by UAE under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of emirates. The two-day conference, scheduled to hold a final session later today, will examine the situation of education and culture in the Arab lands. It will also discuss the ALECSO's five year plan for 2011-2016, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM."
