Bauok, SRCS' Director General of the Emergency Medical Services and International Relations. "These efforts took 10 continuous months." One of the features of telephone call is that one of the detainees was able to talk directly to his 7-years old son who he had not seen or hear his young voice when he was born, he said. He said these communications affirmed the role of the Saudi Red Crescent Society within the international system. "SRCS puts these human services as one of its priorities, indicating that the humanitarian situation surrounding the detainee determines the timing of conducting telephone." He added that all these contacts are only through the SRCS Headquarters in Riyadh where the Society coordinates all the needs of families for the implementation of these calls and humanitarian assistance in carrying any burdens that may arise from their (families) presence in Riyadh for this purpose. The Society stressed that it will do its utmost to continue humanitarian services as it is a part of the International Red Cross Red Crescent Movement. It is noted that over the past few weeks, SRCS has arranged phone calls for 3 Saudi families, with their detainee sons at U.S. Guantanamo detainee Prison. "These efforts reflect the directives of SRCS President to focus on building international relations and strategic partnership with many of the relevant international organizations and perhaps most important of the International Committee of the Red Cross and within the international conventions and the Society are continuing in their efforts to arrange another round of telephone calls to some families of Saudi prisoners in Guantanamo will be announced in due course."
